FLYNN WROTE A MESSAGE IN THE INLANDER MAGAZINE TO CHILDREN WHO LIVED IN THE OUTBACK:

“If any of you boys and girls who read this live in the bush, I want you to do something for me. I want you to write to me of the bush things, like wild dogs, and kangaroos, and crocodiles, and the dust and drought, and artesian bores, and mustering: so that the town boys and girls may know about your life”.
