ABC Northern Tasmania recently caught up with RFDS Victoria Education Manager Tom Ryan doing a ‘fly-drive’ visit to Tasmanian schools. Tom has been towing our aero-medical simulator to schools all over the State, speaking to 69 classes in 18 days. Rick Eaves climbed aboard the trailer-bound plane at the East Ulverstone Primary School and found kids completely immersed in role-play. Doctors and nurses checked beeping ECGs and yelled for help, pilots tried not to crash, there were fluid bags, headsets. All were working together in a desperate bid to save kids who didn’t really need saving. Tom returns to Melbourne this week to continue sharing stories of the RFDS with Victorian kids.
